Modeling Processes with BPMN

Business processes are business flows viewed separately. They consist of a set of coherent activities which have the same aim and are typically carried out by defined roles and relationships in the context of organizational units.1. Business processes are modeled in BPMN diagrams.

Prerequisites

Use the diagram editor for BPMN diagrams when modeling processes with BPMN.It is available in all Innovator for Business Analysts editions.

Purpose

The diagram editor for process modeling supports BPMN 2.0 (Business Process Model and Notation). BPMN is the standard for business process modeling.

BPMN was implemented in Innovator for Business Analysts in an attempt to give the editor as smart a look as possible and facilitate using BPMN. e.g. Innovator specifies the precise BPMN event type from the context as much as possible itself so that the modeler doesn’t have to.

The special concepts describe how Innovator for Business Analysts actually implements BPMN so that model relationships can be understood.
